Malta will offer you this opportunity as it has more than 40 language schools to learn or improve your English while living with people from all over the world. Malta is a very popular destination for learning English because language courses and the cost of living on this island are much cheaper than in England.

In fact, Malta is the cheapest destination to learn English in all of Europe. In addition, the weather and the good atmosphere make this destination much more interesting to carry out your language stay.

In 2018, nearly 90,000 people from all over the world attended an English course in Malta. More than 25,000 students were over 26 years old.

But although Malta is a small island, in which city is it interesting to choose your school or accommodation?

Here is a description of each city that could help you in your choice

St Julians or Paceville

Many language schools in Malta are located in the area of St. Julian's and Paceville, along the coast. They are also the most touristy and lively areas by day and night, especially in summer. Here you can find dozens of clubs, bars, restaurants, pubs.

It is a lively and relatively young area. You will find all the local shops, public transport etc

Ideal if you are young and want to be at the heart of the animation!

You will find schools known as EC, ESE, ACE...

Sliema

Sliema is located nearby in St Julians and is quieter and more residential, you can access St Julians and its nightlife in a few minutes walk while living in a quieter area. You will also find all the shops, public transport, as well as good restaurants, popular bars and many beach clubs where you can relax and meet expatriates from all over the world.

You will find schools like: MaltaLiniguaLinguatime or Inlingua but you can also study in St Julians but live in Sliema without any problem.

Swieqi

Swieqi is the equivalent of Sliema and is also located in St Julians but is located opposite Sliema, it is a lively residential area where many students live.

You can walk to St Julians or Sliema and you will also find all the shops you need.

You just don't have access to the sea unlike St Julians or Sliema.

You can find schools such as: Club Class or International House

Pembroke

Pembroke is really right next to Swieqi and St Julian's. It is a well-off residential area. You will find the very popular Sprachcaffe school Malta which offers an English school / village club concept.

Indeed, the school has a large outdoor swimming pool, restaurant, accommodation, sports hall and the quality of its teaching is renowned for being excellent.

It is an ideal destination for a language trip if you want to be close to nature, to the seaside, but also a few minutes walk from more lively cities like Paceville.

Valetta

In Valletta, the beautiful capital of Malta, there are excellent English schools for adults like Cavendish.

Valletta, a city with a lot to offer its visitors, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 2018, it was the European Capital of Culture and began to attract tourists from all over the world.

Valletta is the perfect combination of art, culture, good food and entertainment. It is therefore particularly appreciated by English students over 30 years of age.

You will find the best restaurants, trendy bars and an architecture that has remained almost intact.

Valletta is a great location for adults over 30 years old.

St Paul’s Bay

St. Paul's Bay is a village located in the north of Malta on its northern coast.

Its municipality includes the neighbouring villages of Buġibba and Qawra, as well as some smaller towns, including Xemxija and Mistra.

Traditionally, Saint Paul's Bay was known as a fishing village, similar to Marsaxlokkk, but is now a popular tourist destination.

St Paul's bay is much quieter than the Sliema/St Julian's area but some parts of the bay are very developed and offer many tourist amenities.

There are very beautiful and superb natural sites in the region and the coastline here has a magnificent view of the open sea. The coastal promenade offers a long and easy walk from St Paul's Bay to Qawra, with an unobstructed view of the sea.

This is an ideal area if you are looking for peace and quiet while having access to everything you need.
