Presentation of the Shinwa Foreign Academy

The Shinwa School was founded in April 1963, and then created its foreign language academy annex in 1990. The quality of his teaching is no longer to be proven.

For more than 20 years, it has been recognized as a good Japanese school by the Tokyo Immigration Bureau.

In order to meet growing societal and international expectations, the Shinwa Foreign Academy wishes to instill in its students its educational philosophy of combining the learning of the Japanese language with an understanding of Japanese culture in its entirety.

Students will be able to choose between short courses, from 1 to 6 months, or long courses, from 12 to 24 months. However, it should be noted that a diploma will only be awarded to students who have enrolled in courses lasting more than 15 months.

Short-term courses are for students who come to Japan on a working holiday visa, or who are only temporary visitors of 3 months or more.

There is no prior knowledge of Japanese language, the school welcomes beginners.

The mission of the Shinwa Foreign Academy

The Shinwa Foreign Academy's learning style is based on a highly pedagogical method in order to keep its students motivated and perfectly educated.

Thus, every day, a mini-test is carried out to verify that the lesson learned the day before is well assimilated. This allows the teaching staff to detect the abilities and shortcomings of their students and to be able to modify courses accordingly.

The school has developed a mixed language learning plan: Minna no Nihongo learning method, exclusive school courses and courses based on the JPLT, the Japanese language aptitude test.

The school makes it a point to provide detailed information and advice as soon as its students arrive, so that they can quickly familiarize themselves with Japanese life. An opening ceremony is also held with native speakers in order to answer all the students' questions.

Shinwa School offers an entrance test to assess the Japanese language skills of each future student. Thus, the student is placed in a course that corresponds to his or her real level of competence.

Teachers at the Japanese school

The 60 professors of the Shinwa Foreign Academy are fully trained and experienced. The large number of teachers allows for individual follow-up of each student. More personalised advice and individual reviews are therefore highlighted. The teachers provide comprehensive courses in a friendly and social environment.

The teachers give advice in Japanese to the students. And for further questions, multilingual office staff are available to speak to students in their native languages.

Short-term courses are composed of classes of less than 18 students, long-term courses are composed of a number of students ranging from 10 to 20.
